Our Resort Ethos

Baja's Resort at East Cape honors the environment on our tree and palm filled six acres. We are a nonsmoking community. We support a dark sky philosophy to promote serene, star-filled nights where owls hoot in the evening and you'll awaken to a songbird symphony.

The resort swimming pool and large hot tub make hot days and cold nights all the more fun as we encourage a kind and considerate neighborhood. Driving slowly to keep dust down in our rural environment is essential, giving us time to wave hello to our neighbors. We host the community's recycling center and encourage all residents and guests to recycle.

Baja's Resort at East Cape is located in the heart of town within walking distance to stores, shops, and restaurants and is just 1000 feet to the beach where the most carefree Baja lifestyle is found!

We love our home which my husband has beautifully landscaped. We love that the homes here are quite protected from hurricanes and other storms instead of being right on the Sea of Cortez. My husband and I came to Los Barriles 21 years ago on our Kiteboarding RV travels. When Theresa found out my husband was a "wind guy" she thought we'd rather stay at another location right on the water. But we told her we'd rather be here at what was then called East Cape RV Park. We were right as coming here ended our wandering and we love being here in the winter, even considering our home is on the beautiful island of Maui.

We've watched the "Park" become a "Resort" as more and more amenities have been added. Besides the beautiful pool and hot tub, residents have stepped up and organized fun activities like off-road trips, Darts Nights, fundraising Bingos & chili cook offs. And, if you prefer, you can also make your site open to people walking by or very private within your home, or a combination of home and garden area. There are so many options! Elaine and I consider Baja's Resort at East Cape Resort to be our primary home. What we love about the resort is that it is right in the middle of town. Restaurants, gift shops, grocery stores, parks and the beach are all within walking distance. The park itself is one of the most beautiful parks in Baja and when you add in the robust social life it is our "little piece of paradise".

I would not be happy living anywhere I wasn't surrounded by nature. The well-cared for, unique, landscaped design of Baja's Resort at East Cape ensures that each site is set among mature trees and bushes. Waving palms and chirping birds bring me joy. The location of the Resort, so close to the best restaurants in town, the supermarkets, fruit and veg stalls, Saturday Market, and the beach, just can't be beat.

I love living here at Baja's Resort at East Cape. The openness and friendliness of the resort's residents makes a wonderful community. The majority are of active retirement age but are young at heart. It is stimulating being amongst active folk who enjoy activities such as pickleball, cycling, kiteboarding, swimming, walking, ATV riding, fishing etc. On offer also are social get-togethers almost every day of the week involving card games, darts, happy hours, barbecues, and beachside breakfasts.

I have lived and worked in many different countries around the world and know it is invaluable to have someone on your side who has developed excellent contacts and who understands the way things work in the local culture. They can often bring about speedy resolutions to challenges that pop up and save you lots of heartache. Theresa has successfully run businesses here in Los Barriles for over 22 years.
